Rita, a wife and mother who was once the lead singer of a Bangles cover band, traded a life in rock clubs for carpools and the PTA. With the hope of getting a little bit of the “old Rita” back, she forms a garage band with postal carrier Patty (Campbell-Martin), unemployed neighbor Owen (guest star Ian Gomez) and her daughter’s boyfriend Kip (Ullman). On the side of that, Rita's daughter doesn't get along with another girl in school, which results in Rita and the girl's mom, to not get along.
